My First Ninja Creami Adventure

I got my Ninja Creami last Christmas. My grandson thought it was a silly gift. He said, “Grandma, you already make real ice cream!” But I was curious. My first try was a simple vanilla. It was good, but I wanted to make it special.

That’s how this Oreo shake was born. I wanted a treat that felt like a party. But I also wanted it to be a little better for us. This recipe is my answer. It feels like a cheat, but it’s not. What was your first Creami experiment like? I’d love to hear.

Why The Little Details Matter

Let’s talk about that pinch of salt. It seems so small. But it makes the chocolate taste richer and deeper. It stops the sweetness from being too flat. I still laugh at that. Such a tiny thing makes a big difference.

Freezing without the lid is another key step. I learned this the hard way. My first pint had a big ice hump on top. The machine made a terrible noise! The lid-off rule keeps everything level. This matters because it protects your machine. And it gives you perfect ice cream every time.

Making Your Shake Your Own

The fun starts with the mix-ins. I use Oreo Thins because they crush up nicely. But you could use mini chocolate chips. Or even a spoonful of peanut butter! This is your creation. What would you mix in? Tell me your dream add-in.

*Fun fact: The “mix-in” program is my favorite part. It just spins the blade a few times. It gently folds your treats into the ice cream. You get lovely ribbons of cookie. Doesn’t that sound amazing?

A Treat That Loves You Back

This isn’t just a dessert. It’s a snack that fills you up. The protein powder helps your muscles. It makes this a great treat after playing or sports. You get the joy of ice cream, plus something good for your body.

That’s why this recipe matters to me. Food should make you happy. It should also make you feel strong. This shake does both. Do you have a favorite “better-for-you” treat? Share it with me.

Time to Spin and Grin

The best moment is when you lift the pint out. It looks just like soft-serve from a shop. The smell of chocolate and cookies fills the kitchen. I always take a spoonful right from the container. Some habits are too good to break.

Then, I scoop it into a bowl. I add a few more crushed cookies on top. The first cold, creamy bite is pure magic. It’s thick, chocolatey, and full of crunch. I hope you love it as much as we do. Now, go make some magic in your kitchen.

My Creamy Dreamy Oreo Protein Shake

Hello, my dear! Come sit with me. Let’s make a frosty treat. It tastes like a cookies-and-cream milkshake. But it’s packed with good protein. My grandson calls it his “secret power ice cream.” I still laugh at that. Doesn’t that sound like a fun secret? We’ll use that clever Ninja Creami machine. It turns frozen things magically creamy.

This recipe is so simple. You just mix, freeze, and spin. I like using Fairlife chocolate milk. It makes everything extra smooth. A little pudding mix is the sweet trick. It makes the texture just perfect. Ready to make some magic? Let’s begin.

  • Step 1: Grab your empty Creami pint. Pour in the chocolate milk. Add the protein powder and pudding mix. Just a tiny pinch of salt, too. It makes the chocolate taste richer. I use a small milk frother to mix. It gets rid of all those little lumps. (A hard-learned tip: whisk it very, very well. No one wants a powdery surprise!).
  • Step 2: Now, put the pint in the freezer. Leave the lid off, please. Freeze it flat for a full day. If you use the lid, a big ice hump forms. That hump is tough on the machine’s blade. I learned this the hard way once. My machine made such a loud noise!
  • Step 3: Time to spin! Take the frozen pint out. Place it in the outer bowl. Lock the lid on top. Twist the handle to lift it up. Press the “Lite Ice Cream” button. Listen to that whirr. It’s like a kitchen fairy at work. It usually comes out perfect in one spin.
  • Step 4: Here is the fun part. Use a spoon to dig a little hole. Drop in a few Oreo Thins. Now run the “Mix-In” program. It crumbles the cookies right into your shake. The sound is just wonderful. Do you prefer big cookie chunks or tiny crumbs? Share below!
  • Step 5: You are done! Scoop it into a bowl right away. I like adding more crushed Oreos on top. It looks so pretty. Enjoy it immediately. It’s the creamiest right after spinning. Doesn’t that smell amazing?

Three Tasty Twists to Try

This recipe is like a best friend. It loves to play dress-up! You can change it so easily. Here are my favorite ways to mix things up. Each one feels like a new dessert.

  • Peanut Butter Cup: Use chocolate peanut butter protein powder. Mix in mini peanut butter cups at the end.
  • Mint Chocolate Chip: Use mint chocolate chip protein powder. Add a drop of peppermint extract. Mix in dark chocolate chips.
  • Birthday Cake: Use vanilla protein powder and milk. Add rainbow sprinkles with the mix-ins. It’s a party in a pint!

Serving It Up With Style

This shake is delicious alone. But let’s make it special. Serve it in a chilled glass bowl. Top it with a whole Oreo cookie. You could add a dollop of whipped cream too. A few mini chocolate chips look lovely sprinkled on top.

What to drink with it? For a cozy night, a glass of cold milk is perfect. For the grown-ups, a little glass of coffee liqueur on the side is nice. The flavors dance together so well. Which would you choose tonight?

My Freezer Tips for Your Creamy Treat

Let’s talk about storing your Ninja Creami shake. You must freeze the pint for a full day. Keep the lid off while it freezes. This stops a big ice hump from forming.

I once put the lid on by mistake. The hump was so hard it made my machine groan. We learn from our little kitchen mistakes. After spinning, eat your shake right away.

It does not save well once it’s creamy. But you can make and freeze the base ahead. This is perfect for a busy week. Batch cooking means a sweet reward is always ready.

This matters because it teaches us patience. Good things come to those who wait. Have you ever tried storing it this way? Share below!

Simple Fixes for Common Hiccups

Sometimes our treats need a little help. First, your mix might be too powdery after spinning. Just add a splash of milk and respin. It will become perfectly smooth.

Second, the flavor might not be sweet enough for you. I remember when mine tasted a bit flat. A tiny pinch of salt fixes this. It makes the chocolate taste richer and deeper.

Third, the mix-ins can get lost. Make a good-sized hole in the center. This lets the blade fold them in gently. Getting these steps right builds your kitchen confidence.

It also makes your food taste exactly how you want. Which of these problems have you run into before?

Your Quick Questions, Answered

Q: Can I make this gluten-free? A: Yes! Use gluten-free Oreos. Check your pudding mix label too.

Q: Can I make the base ahead? A: Absolutely. Mix it and freeze it up to a month early.

Q: What are easy ingredient swaps? A: Use any milk you like. Vanilla protein powder works fine too.

Q: Can I double the recipe? A: No. Only make one pint at a time for your Creami.

Q: Any optional tips? A: Try a drop of mint extract. Fun fact: mint makes chocolate taste even more chocolatey. Which tip will you try first?

Description

Whip up a thick, creamy Ninja Creami protein shake with Oreos! A healthy, high-protein dessert or post-workout treat that tastes like a decadent milkshake.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mix the base ingredients: add the chocolate milk, protein powder, pudding mix of choice, and salt to an empty CREAMi™ Pint.
  2. Whisk: whisk ingredients together, or I like using a milk frother to incorporate it.
  3. Freeze: freeze the pint on a level surface in the freezer, with the lid off, for 24 hours. (freezing with the lid on creates a hump at the top of the ice cream, which can damage the blade, so be sure to leave it off).
  4. Assemble: Remove the pint from the freezer, place it in the outer bowl, and lock the lid on top. Place the bowl assembly on the motor base, twist the handle right to raise the platform, and lock it in place.
  5. Spin it! Select Lite Ice Cream. It shouldn’t need another respin.
  6. Mix-ins: use a spoon to create a small hole in the center, about 1 ½ inches wide. Place a few Oreo thins in the center. Run the mix-in program one time.
  7. Enjoy: remove the pint and enjoy right away with more crushed-up Oreos on top!

Notes

For best results, ensure the pint is frozen on a level surface without the lid to prevent a hump that could damage the Creami blade.
